A beautifully designed home on an amazing property perched high above the American River. Four hundred year old growth hardwood was milled for beams throughout.
The kitchen has a double island layout and abundant storage all done in a cabinet style I had designed. The front door and dining room glass panels were done by various artists to duplicate a huge oak tree that grows on the grounds. Pale celadon and mossy greens were used to refresh and compliment all the warm wood and granite surfaces. River rock from the river below graces the fireplace and accent areas.
This home in El Dorado Hills was designed for owners who wanted a Moroccan flair in color and pattern. Tiled arches, authentic light fixtures, iron work, and area rugs all create the atmosphere of the Casbah. Doors were sent from North Africa to be repurposed desks and coffee tables.
Palm trees sway indoors and out. The view is gorgeous as is the tent like drama around the pool.
This home has a variety of spaces for the owners to choose to spend their time. Grand scale living room, intimate dining room, open-aired kitchen, beautiful master suite. All were finished and furnished with a Craftsman influence. Yet not overdone. All spaces look onto the 6th green at Serrano Golf Course, and emphasize an indoor/outdoor California life style.
The dining table was custom designed and fabricated. The mantel piece is iron and hand-crafted bronze; with back lighting. The coastal cherry floor and cabinets were all custom-crafted as well. The lighting in this house is particularly designed to create many subtle moods.
A Luxe home on top of a hill east of Sacramento, a fiefdom really! So full of the personality of its owners. Elegant and casual. A plum, moss and aqua color scheme to contrast with all the natural cherry and black original designed cabinets.
The dining table is fabricated from gorgeous eucalyptus stumps with a thick glass top. A view of the whole valley is totally unencumbered with window coverings. Very clean, very cozy.
This home was designed to bring back many happy travel memories for my clients in Davis. The textures and colors all to create the African atmosphere while maintaining a high level of comfort and graciousness. This home works well for entertaining and just chilling out at home. The master bedroom suite is all done in a butter crème color and was expressly done for a romantic and elegant departure.
My clients have owned this tree shaded home in Fair Oaks for many years. We have made it “their own” by highlighting all their wonderful acquisitions from Mexico and South America. Color, Color, Color. It was great fun and done in a carefully crafted manner. The living room is more restrained and elegant while the family room/kitchen is playful and fun. (As are the occupants)
Many of the intricately hand painted figures and art work are of Museum Quality.
The newly remodeled kitchen is efficient and gorgeous all done in authentic Mexican crisp blue tiles, natural wood cabinetry and Saltillo tile floors
Even Rosie the dog looks happy here.
Situated right on the banks of the American River with gorgeous views from nearly all of the rooms. The manor house architecture is carefully attended to throughout the home. Antique leaded glass doors, clay/plastered walls, beautifully crafted cabinetry with solid doors and mitered paneled fronts, multi-beveled mirrors, softly lit coppered ceiling. All the light fixtures were made in Santa Barbara expressly for this residence. The tile mosaic in the stairwell floor came from Italy, the cast stone fireplace from France and the beams were all hand hewn by craftsman on the site. The 9 foot sofas are Belgian velvet and are super comfy. The bedroom tapestry is 100 years old. This is a space where you feel as if you’re staying in an elegant castle on vacation.
Comfort and elegance abounds in this home tucked in the hills of El Dorado Hills.
It is a Transitional-Old World setting. A bit rustic but not trying to be cookie cutter Tuscan. The color palette is a sophisticate reflection of the owners… subtle grays, soft greens, taupe, cream-all quiet natural colors. Even Duffy the cat matches.
Many of the pieces from the prior residence we designed were used and blended beautifully with the new architecture.
An ASID Showhouse Project in Sacramento. I was assigned to do the most fun area. Beautiful wooded setting, beautiful pool. A permanent structure rather like a fun tent with all the amenities . . . TV, fireplace, cozy sofas, McGuire chairs and ethnic appointments, complete with feather and beaded pillows to compliment the red and black Oriental area rug.
Situated right on the shore of beautiful Lake Tahoe, this World Class Get-Away has been featured in numerous publications. It’s a WoW and yet is cozy and comfy. All the light fixtures were designed and built expressly for this project. Solid walnut flooring and cabinets provide an unparalleled elegance. Granite fireplaces and interior walls make a seamless transition from outside-in. Luxurious chenille’s and leather cover the living room seating. Sliding barn doors are space saves. The cabinets and built-ins were done by a talented artist in wood in Nevada City and are furniture quality. Original art and custom made bedding finish this Luxe home and make you never want to leave.
Gracious old world style. This home has it all. We fabricated the elaborate cast stone fireplace from our own designs. Floral vines embellish the crown moldings, warm wood plank and travertine grace the first floor, alongside white painted arched cabinets and serpentine wrought iron stair railings.
A quiet cream monochromatic color scheme sets the mood for a high style glamorous atmosphere. The raw silk and suede upholstery compliment the fabulous artwork and sculptures. Both the living area and the master bedroom were arranged on a 45 degree angle to create exciting movement in form and shape.
Here we have a fundraising showroom event in San Francisco where the Designer Showrooms invited designers to create fantasy Christmas spaces for the public view. I marbled the screen green and gold, and used striped satin lines for boldness. The walls were painted deep emerald with gold and crystal throughout to create a real wow-factor.
A high end restaurant in Pavilions Shopping Center, modeled after a favorite place of the owner’s…Vienna. It has padded Belgian tapestry walls, rich wood appointments and furniture, shell pink ribbed chenille upholstery. European art and artifacts complete the feeling of upscale elegance. The outdoor terrace with its lighted umbrellas add a bit of magic.
This was originally a 2-bedroom home that was added onto many times by two different clients of mine. The original oak floors were extended to the new family room. Glossy white painted cabinets create a cheerful kitchen and family room. Sunlit and full of charm. The traditional blue and white color scheme add a freshness to the dark antiques inherited by the family. Very livable and friendly.
